I Love Reading
Thursday, August 24, 2023
I didn't enjoy reading books until I joined Form one. All along I knew that I would start reading set books in Form three and that would be just for the exams. To my shock, it was a culture in my high school to start preparing the students for the set books from Form one and so we had class readers that would still be examined. I did not have a choice but to get myself into the reading culture, something that I'm quite grateful for right now.

A child is never too young to read. In fact, parents who read with their children from ages 0 to 3 years are ensuring that they have the best start to school by being way ahead of their peers. Studies have shown that children who are exposed to too few or no books before they join school will struggle in school and will remain poor readers. One way you can ensure that your child is exposed to reading from an early age is to read aloud to them.
